She can do single digit addition with the equation equalling ten or less. She knows the even numbers from 2-10 and the odd from 1-9. She  understands estimating though she is not very accurate yet. She can compare quantities, 1 to 10, using one-to-one correspondence. She can easily recognize 1 to 5 objects or dots and name them readily. She can relate the numbers from 1-10 to each other.

Danica can identify Mountain Ash and Maple trees. She has been taught the difference between conifers and deciduous trees. There are lots of birds in our neighbourhood due to a bird loving neighbour. Danica loves to watch the flocks of song birds swoop through the winter sky. She calls it “bird ballet”. She can identify some local birds such as flickers, magpies, crows, bald eagles, swans, ducks, and ruffed grouse. She has observed and recognized many types of BC animals at the local wildlife park.

Work Samples- There are samples of Danica’s work within the picture files. I posted video samples at the beginning of January with memory verse, her explaining a map she drew, and her explaining the hibernation cycle of bears. I have also linked some reading and counting to the bottom of this post.
