I am super frustrated as my computer seems to have some sort of serious problem and is not allowing me to preview or sort the selected photos. As a result the samples are all mixed up and in no particular subject order. Sorry. I have tried to label most of them.

BIBLE- Danica has memorized verses and heard Bible stories. She understands God as a loving Creator and knows that Jesus died and rose again. She prays with us and is growing in her understanding.

FINE ARTS- Danica continues to take daily joy in creating and drawing. She cuts, glues, colours, etc. She uses recyclables from around the house and things that are found in nature for her art. She loves to draw toys and cartoon characters. When she goes for a sleep over at Grandma’s or Nana’s she almost always takes her felts and book. She also enjoys taking photos with my camera.

HEALTH & CAREER- Danica has covered the entirety of the Healthy Horizons lessons for Kindergarten. She knows how to take care of her body, use her manners, share, be kind, and she knows safety rules. She has a very strong grasp on feelings in herself and others.

LANGUAGE ARTS- Danica has completed Handwriting Without Tears- K workbook and has completed HWT-Grade 1 workbook as well. In reading she continues to progress in speed of recognition and in reading new words. She helps me read her bedtime stories. We read signs and labels together. She has finished the first level of Raz Reading and is now working on the second level.

MATH- Danica has completed Right Start Math-K to lesson #70. She enjoys doing math and playing the many games that the book suggests.

PE- Danica has spent a LOT of time running and climbing and jumping this term. Since our yard has been fenced she is outside on the trampoline almost every day. She has outgrown her run bike and is getting much stronger with pedalling her heavy pedal bike. She loves going on nature walks, hikes and walks in our neighbourhood. She loves to “tightrope walk” on raised cement and wooden beams. By nature she is errs on the side of caution and considers physical tasks before attempting them. In the last while she has become quite brave with slides and climbing. She has also become much more confident on the trampoline attempting several tricks her older cousin has shown her.

SOCIAL STUDIES- Danica has nearly completed “My First Map Book”. She completed the socials outcomes in Come Sit By Me- Vol 2. (For details reference weekly blog).

SCIENCE- Danica completed the science outcomes in Come Sit By Me- vol 2. She particularly liked the BUGS section of the book. (For details reference daily blog).
As a part of our daily lives I am constantly identifying various birds, insects, and species of plants and trees to Danica. She knows quite a few of them now.
Danica explained to me  a few weeks ago that she use to think people were stronger than the wind because we can go through wind. But then she saw the wind shaking a traffic light post and decided that the wind can be stronger than people because a person can’t make those posts wiggle.
